BREAKING: IRCC invites 1,500 Express Entry candidates in third round of invitations this week

IRCC has invited Express Entry candidates for the third consecutive day.

Today, invitations were issued to candidates who are eligible for category-based selection in health care professions. In all, 1,500 candidates were invited. Candidates need to have minimum CRS score of 463. This is the lowest CRS score for any Express Entry round of invites issued in 2023.

Healthcare category draw expected like last week’s IRCC has confirmed that a round of invitations for 1,500 healthcare workers will go out this week. This was followed by the first ever category-based draw on June 28, in which 500 healthcare workers with a minimum CRS of 476 got the ITA.

Today’s draw follows an earlier invitation issued on July 5 to candidates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professions. In yesterday’s invitation round, 500 STEM candidates with a minimum CRS score of 486 received an ITA.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also invited 700 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 511 in a surprise all-program draw on July 4. In an all-program draw, Express Entry considers candidates. Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Classes, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

Of the six new categories, health care businesses make up the largest number of eligible businesses with a total of 35:

In Canada, 23% of registered nurses, 36% of registered physicians and 54% of dental technicians are immigrants. Canada is relying on immigration to fill immediate gaps in the labor force. The latest job vacancy data from Statistics Canada shows there were 153,000 open positions in health care and social assistance in April 2023. This is the highest level of vacancies across all employment sectors.

On May 31, Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced that the new categories for the new category-based selection Express Entry draw had been finalised.

The announcement was expected in June 2022 following changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. This change gives Canada’s Minister of Immigration the authority to select economic immigration candidates who have key qualities that align with Canada’s economic priorities or the minister’s mandate to promote the French language. outside Quebec.

The new categories are as follows:

The categories were selected based on labor market projections and discussions with IRCC partners and stakeholders, as well as provincial and territorial governments.
