British Columbia and Prince Edward Island will release PNP nominations this week

British Columbia (BC) and Prince Edward Island (PEI) have issued provincial immigration invitations this week.

Except for Nunavut and Quebec, all provinces and territories in Canada use the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to select and invite skilled immigrants to their territory. These immigrants are specifically selected by each local government based on how the government believes the candidate’s skills will be able to address the region’s most pressing labour market and demographic challenges.

Comment: Quebec, Canada’s only French-majority province, wishes to maintain a unique level of control over its local economic immigration. Therefore, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Province of Quebec have a separate immigration-focused agreement. This agreement is the reason Quebec does not operate its own PNP.
