Express Entry Program – Particularly under Express Entry Program, there are three skilled immigration programs. These are the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Besides a points-based program, it uses a ranking system – Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It ranks the basis of the profile on the CRS points. Therefore, they award these points based on the selection factors. Factors such as age, language proficiency, work experience, arranged employment, etc.

Moreover, the Express Entry invites eligible candidates based on a CRS score. They considers factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French.

Hence, they issue candidates an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence (ITA) through regular draws from the Express Entry pool only based on their score.

  • Bio-metric Fee – $85 per person, $170 per family

Minimum Requirement for Canada Express Entry Program

Before, you apply for Canada permanent residency under the Federal skilled worker program, launched in January 2015 by the Canadian Government, few points are to be kept in mind.

This was launched to invite skilled workers from all over the world in their Country. Generally applicants need to qualify 67 points out of 100 which are based on the factors defined below:

1. Age: Under the Canada Express Entry visa Programme the highest points are awarded to the applicants between the age group of 18 to 35 years. Applicants above the age group of 35 years certainly gets lesser points.

The maximum age limit to qualify under Canada express entry program is 45 years and the applicants above 45 years of age still have the options for Province nomination programs.

2. Education Eligibility: You almost have a Canadian or Canadian higher secondary education equivalent certification i.e. a diploma or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field.

3. Skilled Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of consistent work at a full-time capacity for a salary in the past 10 years in the skills O, A or B category in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system list is required.

4. Language Ability Test: An applicant must score at least 6 bands in every English Literacy Test module to be eligible for immigration to Canada under the Express Entry visa. Also, IELTS score needs to be less than 2 years old at the time of application.

In addition to, they give extra points to those who know the French language. So, having extra knowledge of the French language is an added advantage.

5. Adaptability: For Express Entry visa, If you have a spouse or common-law partner who will also immigrate to Canada with you. An extra 10 points for the adaptability too.

Moreover, fluctuation in the minimum CRS scores drawn this year may be partly attributed to the time between draws which has deviated frequently from IRCC’s usual pace of a draw every two weeks.

Hence, more time between draws allows the pool to replenish with higher-scoring candidates. It can have the effect of raising the minimum CRS score.

Less time between draws means fewer candidates have time to enter a profile. Results in low cut-off score.

This was the case with the August 20 draw, which took place only eight days after the previous draw on August 12 and saw the minimum CRS score decrease by nine points, from 466 to 457.

Today’s draw comes 15 days after the August 20 draw and resulted in an increase of six points.

A provincial nomination results in an additional 600 CRS points and guarantees an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Express Entry candidates with scores below today’s CRS cut-off have a variety of potential options for increasing their points total, the most valuable of which is a provincial nomination.
